As a result of the continuing decline in the requirement for the repair of consumer electronic equipment it is with regret that Manchester Colour Engineering Services Limited announce that after 36 years of service to the trade the company will be closing down and as a result will cease repair operations with effect from 25th January 2008.

We wish to thank all of our customers for their support over the years

When a tuner is received at MCES it is tested and diagnosed and any suspect or faulty components are replaced. Also, at this point, any modifications are carried out to improve performance. The tuner is then subjected to a range of tests and measurements to check and verify such things as tuning drift, stability, tuning range, and band pass response. The tuner alignment is also verified and optimised to ensure maximum gain and correct operation at all channels throughout its range of operation. It is also subjected to a temperature-cycling test to check oscillator stability, utilising crystal controlled markers, along with checks to ensure correct operation of the AGC and AFC ranges.

The repaired and tested unit is then dispatched by either City-Link or 1st class mail - usually the same day - to ensure a speedy and reliable service
